1. Marketplace Role
Unless SourceCAN expressly identifies itself as seller, the manufacturer is the seller and the buyer/manufacturer contract controls product-specific return, warranty and refund obligations, subject to mandatory law.
2. Standard Products
Manufacturers should publish clear cancellation, return, exchange, warranty and refund terms. Buyers should review those terms before confirming an order.
3. Custom Manufacturing
Custom, made-to-order, engineered or buyer-specific goods may have restricted cancellation or return rights once work, tooling or procurement has begun, subject to the parties’ contract and mandatory law.
4. Distance Sales and Consumer Rights
Where British Columbia consumer law applies to a distance sales contract, required pre-contract disclosures, contract copies and statutory cancellation rights apply notwithstanding inconsistent platform terms.
5. Disputes
The parties should first use SourceCAN messaging and transaction records to attempt resolution. SourceCAN may facilitate communications but does not adjudicate private commercial disputes unless a separate service expressly provides otherwise.
6. Chargebacks and Payment Reversals
Users must not knowingly make false chargeback claims. Payment disputes remain subject to payment-provider rules and applicable law.
